Gabala Shooting Centre – For lovers of shooting, this center is an unreplaceable place. You can try arrow shooting as well as rifle shooting there during Gabala tour.

Gabala is located on the territory of the Shaki-Zakatala zone, almost on the border of Dagestan and Georgia. In the vicinity of modern Gabala are the ruins of an ancient city, which is about 2000 years old. The area is rich in nut and chestnut forests, each of which is about 500 years old. Chestnuts blooming in spring are a uniquely beautiful sight.

On the way to Gabala during the Gabala tour, we will visit firstly Shamakhi Juma Mosque. This Azerbaijani mosque is the oldest and largest in the Caucasus. According to legend, it was founded in the 8th century, when Shamakhi was chosen as the residence of the Arab caliph. The exact date of its construction is 744, which was established as a result of research conducted by a geological commission from Tiflis headed by Prince Shakuli Qajar. This date was determined by the Arabic inscription on the facade of the Juma mosque, indicating the 126th year of the Muslim calendar as the date of foundation.

It was at this time that the construction of new religious buildings (mosques) began on the territory of modern Azerbaijan. The Juma mosque in Shamakhi is the earliest in the Caucasus after the Derbent Friday cathedral mosque, built-in 734.

The mosque was practically rebuilt, but it remained on the old foundation and preserved the basic principles of the structure. It also has three halls, the central hall is blocked by a huge dome, and two side rooms are smaller with domes; under the central dome, there is a belt of windows decorated with openwork grilles. The whole facade is decorated with ornamental decor.

Lake Nohur in Gabala is one of the most popular tourist destinations in our country, and you will take a tour of this lake during our Gabala tour. The lake is unusual, beautiful, surrounded by mountains and reed beds, and resembles a mirror in which wooded slopes look. The peculiarity of this reservoir is that although it is located high in the mountains, it is easily accessible, you can get here by car and even stay in a local recreation area.

Located 3km east of Gabala with its unique nature, the Lake Nohur resembles a ring spur, located in a natural hole between the Gullurun, Goydag, and Yumru mountains. At times of severe winter, the surface of Nohur Lake is completely frozen. In the winter of 1953, the ice cover on the lake surface was 40-50 cm. It was. The residents of the nearby village of Nohurqishlag using this force brought fire and building materials from the sky to the north of the lake, passing through the force of live power and technology. The fact that the surface of the dam was completely covered with ice was repeated in the winter of 2007-2008.

Also, in our Gabala tour, you should definitely visit the waterfall “Seven Beauties”, it is located in the outskirts of Gabala, near the village of Vandam. The waterfall consists of seven cascades, hence its name. If you want to admire this natural wonder, then you should go there very early. A waterfall is a place of pilgrimage for tourists from all over the world, the pedestrian route is usually crammed with cars and buses, and there is always a crowd of admiring spectators on a narrow wooden staircase. Some consider this place holy. Hypertensive patients and people suffering from cardiovascular diseases, before visiting the waterfall should consult a doctor because at the height it is breathtaking. Tourists are allowed to climb only to the fifth step, and only brave souls risk climbing to the fifth, sixth, seventh steps.

Tufandag Resort is located 4 km from the city of Gabala – the ancient capital of the Caucasus Albany. The distance from Gabala International Airport is 20 km, and 220 km from the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. The resort has all the conditions for an excellent family holiday. There are training schools with qualified instructors who will help you not only get up on skis and snowboards for the first time, but also improve your skills and reach a new level. Children will love the modern playgrounds. Babysitting services are available in the hotel complexes. The Tufandag complex can accommodate up to 3,000 guests at the same time. In addition to the 5-star hotels, the complex includes restaurants, cafes, bars, and recreation areas, ski and adult skiing, rent, and repair equipment. Tufandag Gabala Ski Center roads have a variety of complexities, and the total length of ski routes is 17 km. Skiing is divided into 3 groups: for beginners, for those with the ability to drive, and for full-time professional skiers.

What is a shooting club “Gabala”?

And the best part of the Gabala Tour is a shooting club. This is an amazing institution where a professional sports base and a social and entertainment enterprise are combined. That is, on the one hand, sportsmen-shooters are trained here, and on the other, almost everyone, even tourists, can come here and shoot. On one side, significant people like to come here. On the other, it does not affect the regular life of the club.

Amazing experience with Tahir!

Our adventure with Guided Azerbaijan at the Tufandag Mountain Resort was an experience to remember! Tahir, our designated tour guide from the company, was the highlight of our trip. His friendly nature and extensive knowledge about the resort made our tour both educational and incredibly fun. Tahir's approachable personality and great sense of humor created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It felt more like exploring with a local friend than a formal tour, which added a unique and personal touch to our experience. The team at Guided Azerbaijan really impressed us with their attention to detail. From comfortable transportation to offering tasty local treats, they ensured that every aspect of our trip was taken care of. Their dedication to our comfort and enjoyment was evident throughout the tour. Choosing Guided Azerbaijan and having Tahir as our tour guide was the best decision we made for our visit to Tufandag Mountain Resort. Great experience

I contacted Lamia from Guided Azerbaijan one month before arriving. She answered all our questions patiently and we settled all the details, including the airport transfer. The driver was very polite and flexibile, whereas our guide Tahir was one of the best I have encountered. Young, energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable. We were unlucky to arrive in the mountains on a cloudy day and so we could not enjoy the marvellous views fully, but it was a great experience.

Guided Azerbaijan day tour

Recently we visited this region with Guided Azerbaijan lead by Lamia and accompanied by guide Youssef. It was one of a kind experience just before setting in of winter. The flora and fauna was amazing along with the cable cars. Food was delicious. No words to describe the place. Few photographs make it evident. We must say all the planning was fit to make it a relaxed yet informative tour.
