Imamzadeh Mausoleum
Imamzadeh Mausoleum

Admire the gorgeous domes and facades of Imamzadeh Mausoleum, or Goy Imam Mosque, an important religious complex located 7 km north of Ganja. The complex consists of a mosque and mausoleum, the latter thought to have been originally built in the 14th century over the grave of 5th Imam Ibrahim, the son of Mahammad Bagir. In recent years it has been beautifully restored and is a stunning example of Islamic architecture. A series of mosques and caravanserais surrounded by fortress walls appeared and disappeared until between 2010 and 2016 the complex was completely restored. Look out especially for the mausoleum’s exquisite blue-tiled dome, decorated with peacocks and floral patterns.
