The trail begins in Chiragli village, situated on the right bank of the Ganjachay River valley. From every vantage point in the village, Mount Goshgar stands prominently in view. Atop Javadkhan Peak lies a monument dedicated to Javad Khan, the last khan of Ganja. This monument, inaugurated in 2016, showcases a profile of Javad Khan alongside Ganja’s coat of arms, his sword, and a spear-shaped iron fence, symbolizing his army.
The trail primarily follows dirt roads, transitioning into mountain paths further along. These paths are clearly visible and fully marked. The first 4.6 km of the route consists mainly of uphill terrain. About 1.5 km past the village’s upper exit, you’ll reach a crossroads—continue straight here. After another 3.1 km, you’ll arrive at a cemetery, where the route requires a left turn. The next 2 km are relatively flat, while the remaining stretch descends back toward Chiragli village. The trail before the cemetery winds through sparsely forested areas, while the remainder is open and treeless.
Although Chiragli village is located in the Dashkasan region, vehicle access is only possible from the Goygol region. The hike can also be completed in reverse, starting from the endpoint and following the trail back to Chiragli.
For those looking to extend their journey, this route connects with the Javadkhan–Azgilli, Chiragli–Azgilli, and Chiragli–Dastafur trails. This route is accessible year-round, offering a unique experience in every season.
Food and Accommodation
As there are no shops in Chiragli village or along the trail, hikers should ensure they bring sufficient supplies before starting their journey. A spring is located 1 km to the left of the information board, with five additional springs along the route. Additional water sources can also be found within Chiragli village.
Transportation Details
Direct car access to Chiragli village from the Dashkasan region is not available. However, you can reach the village on foot from Kollu (4.1 km) or Dastafur (8.5 km). Alternatively, you can drive or hike from Azgilli village, which is the last village in the Goygol region and sits at the border with Dashkasan.
To reach Azgilli village, take an off-road vehicle from Togana village, which is accessible by bus or taxi from the Goygol region bus station. Off-road vehicles can be arranged at the entrance of Goygol National Park. The trail begins at the upper exit of Chiragli village.
No special permits are required to hike this trail.
Important Notes
Between May and October, shepherd camps may be present in the area beyond the cemetery. Be cautious of shepherd dogs, but feel free to approach the shepherds for assistance if needed.
